The international business sector will be celebrating its week with a number of activities from October 5 to 11, under the theme International Business Barbados???Embrace the Opportunities.

On Sunday, October 5 at 9:00 a.m., there will be divine worship at the St. Thomas Parish Church. And, Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss will deliver remarks.

On Tuesday, October 7, a forum for business and fifth and sixth form students will be held to give young people a platform to learn more about the international business sector from a range of business professionals. This will commence at 8:30 a.m., at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

That same evening at 7:00, there will be a public discussion forum featuring experts from within the sector at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus.

The next day, Wednesday, October 8, a Careers??? Showcase will take place from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. on the Guild Lawn, at the UWI, Cave Hill Campus. University graduates and other students eyeing a career in the international business sector will be exposed to expert guidance from international business representatives from the public and private sectors.

This year’s main event for International Business Week will be a two-day Latin American Business Conference, under the theme Bridging the Americas – Barbados Your Gateway. It will be held from Thursday, October 9, to Friday, October 10, and the focus will be on doing business with Latin America.

It is expected that participants will benefit from substantial support by Invest Barbados, who will be bringing in a contingent of Latin American speakers. Thursday???s session will get under way at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., while Friday???s session will run from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The curtain will come down on Saturday, October 11 at 4:00 p.m., with a fun walk/run from the Garrison to the Aquatic Gap via Belleville.
