Young persons interested in carving out a career in international business can learn more about the sector when the International Business Sector hosts a Schools??? Symposium and a Careers Showcase on October 22 and October 23, respectively.

On Tuesday, October 22, from 8:30 a.m., the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre will be the venue for the Symposium which targets business students and interested fifth and sixth formers who want to learn more about the sector from a range of business professionals.

The next day, Wednesday, October 23, from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m., international business representatives will be on hand to offer career guidance to undergraduates and other students.

It will take place at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, on the Guild Lawn. Other events to commemorate the week will include a church service on Sunday, October 20 at St. Dominic???s Catholic Church, Maxwell, Christ Church, commencing at 10:00 a.m. Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, will deliver remarks.

The evening of Tuesday, October 22, at 7:00, the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, Cave Hill Campus, will host a Public Discussion entitled Strategies for Expanding Economic Opportunities: Winning the War, featuring experts from within the sector.

The week will culminate with a two-day International Business Conference on Thursday, October 24, and Friday, October 25, at the Hilton Barbados. The conference will feature speakers from Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Thursday???s session will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., while Friday???s session will run from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
