With this year’s Agrofest just around the corner, householders, school children and agriculturalists are being encouraged to register for the range of competitions being staged as part of the event.

According to Exhibits Coordinator, Saunjean Cutting, "in previous years we always had a good response and again we are urging our past participants, as well as first time entrants, to take part."

Pointing out that registration forms have already been sent to previous competitors, Ms. Cutting indicated that first time contestants would need to call the Agrofest Secretariat in order to obtain theirs.

She also noted that the kitchen garden competition, which has become increasingly popular over the years, will be open to householders and schools.?? The official said participants could submit entries for both garden beds and container gardens.

In addition, amateurs and professionals are invited to enter the craft competition. Contestants are reminded that they must use local materials.

Persons can also enter the Milking Cow; Dairy & Beef Show; Sheep, Goat, Rabbit and Pigs Show and the Fruit and Vegetable competitions.

The registration deadline for all competitions is Friday, January 29, 2010.
