Ionics Fresh Water Ltd. has advised the Barbados Water Authority that it has shut down the Desalination Plant to protect its equipment during the passing of the Tropical Storm Dorian. Once the all clear has been given operations at the plant will be reactivated.

While we are aware that our customers would have complied with the 5 gallons per person per day storage of water for 5 days, we wish to advise that as a result of the Ionics shutdown customers along Highway 1 may be impacted by water outages.
