Communities across Barbados are being given an opportunity to come together and dance.?? The Community Development Department, (CDD) within the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, is once again preparing to host its annual Community Dance Fest.

The event will kick off next week, when more than 30 dance groups from various districts, compete in the preliminaries, which will take place at different venues across the island.

Next Monday, November 22, the contest will be held at the Trents Community Centre, Trents, St. James, and at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination (EBCCI), University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, St. Michael, on Tuesday, November 23. On Wednesday, November 24, Grazettes Community Centre, Grazettes, St. Michael, will be the stage for the third round of preliminaries. ??The final one will be held at the Parkinson Secondary School, The Pine, St. Michael.????

All preliminaries start at 6:00 p.m. and public support for the dancers is encouraged. ??Attendance is free.

Following the preliminaries, the CDD will be holding a workshop for the groups on November 27th at the EBCCI, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.????sharifa.medford@barbados.gov.bb
