Several young people who participated in the ITS for Teens programme recently received their prizes for excelling in the six-week programme, which was put on by the Community Development Department during the summer months.

First place in the group category went to the Greens Resource Centre.  The group comprised Shalicia Beckles, Tyreke Smith, Trinity Sergeant, Dashawn Lowe and Paul Pollard.

The quintet said they were ecstatic about their win, and were ‘extremely pleased’ to finally receive their laptops.  They said they learned a lot at the camps and that the sessions were more informative than they had anticipated when they signed up.

Paul Pollard said the programme had piqued his interest in information technology, and he was encouraged him to pursue more advanced courses in this area.

Also on hand to receive his prize of a laptop was first placed individual winner Caleb Brathwaite from the Grazettes Resource Centre.  He described the programme as challenging at times, but rewarding in the end.

Joshua Burke and Gabrielle Neblett also received tablets for being part of the second placed group.  They attended camp at the Rices Community Centre in St. Philip.
