Persons are urged to sign up for the Jack-in-the-Box Gully Hike. (FP)

Nature lovers will have an opportunity to learn more about gullies when the Barbados Museum and Historical Society stages a hike in the Jack-in-the-Box Gully on Saturday, March 30.

Those persons interested in participating in the walk should contact the Museum at 427-0201 or email info@barbmuse.org.bb to reserve a space.

Walkers should assemble outside Aerial Trek, Walkes Spring Plantation, St. Thomas, at 7:00 a.m. They are encouraged to wear long pants, sneakers or hiking boots and bring water. The hike will be moderate to difficult as participants may have to climb over rocks and fallen trees.????????

During the two-and-a-half hour hike, participants are expected to learn how gullies are formed, how they were used for drainage and transportation, as well as what flora is found there that is used in Barbadian folk medicine.
