The inaugural Janice Millington Scholarship will be presented to Ms. Dionne Whitehall this Thursday, August 13, at the Barbados Community College (BCC) at 3.30 p.m.

Ms. Whitehall, who was awarded US$5,000.00, will leave the island shortly to pursue a Masters of Business Administration in Music Management at the William Paterson University in the United States.

The scholarship was designed to enable graduates from the Associate Degree in Music Programme at the BCC to pursue further studies, while commemorating the memory of the late Janice Millington, who made significant contributions to the development of music in Barbados.

Persons expected to be at the presentation include Dr. Dorothy Millington, sister of Janice Millington; Chairman, Board of Management, BCC, Mr. Bertram Carter, Deputy Principal (Ag.), Dr. Sylvia Hackett, and Head of the Music Department, Mr. Roger Gittens.
