When Japanese Ambassador to Barbados, Yoshimasa Tezuka, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, they discussed grant assistance, framework agreements and solar energy projects.

During the recent meeting, Ms. McClean also thanked the Government of Japan for its invaluable contribution to CARICOM.???? At present, Japan-CARICOM cooperation includes the provision of aid to member states in the region.?? The Government of Japan provides technical and developmental assistant to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.??

The Asian country is also a key contributor to the tourism, agriculture, education and financial sectors of CARICOM.??

Ambassador Tezuka is based in Trinidad and Tobago.??
