And, the Barbados Employment and Career Counselling Service (BECCS) is inviting suitably qualified persons to submit résumés to its department for two related positions – Greenhouse Farm Manager and Greenhouse Farm Worker.
The Greenhouse Farm Manager, who will supervise farm operations and staff, must have experience working in this type of business or other commercial farms.
He/she must be proficient in the use of computers and technology, including environmental sensors; be able to ensure top quality controls of all products on the farm, and use advanced digital monitoring and documenting systems.
Applicants for this post should possess a BSc. or MSc. in Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
Individuals applying for the position of Greenhouse Farm Worker will be required to, among other things, maintain greenhouse structure, cultivation system and farm equipment; ensure top quality controls of all products; sanitise components between crop cycles, and seed, cultivate, harvest and package farm produce.
He/she should possess a high school diploma or an advanced education in agriculture, and a minimum of two years’ experience in agriculture (crop) production.
