Job seekers are being encouraged to apply to the National Employment Bureau (NEB) for assistance in finding employment opportunities in Canada.

Currently, work is available in a well-established sanitation company, as well as in the dairy and fast food industries.??

According to NEB’s Senior Labour Officer, Valerie Quintyne, a representative of the sanitation company is scheduled to arrive in Barbados shortly to conduct a recruitment drive for sanitation workers.??

Noting that the successful candidates would be required to clean beef, chicken and pork plants, she indicated that applicants should have a minimum of three years full time work experience in a "heavy labouring job", such as: sanitation worker, farmer, construction worker, janitor or butcher.

She said prospective candidates for the position of sanitation worker should be able to produce evidence of gaining a High School Diploma at minimum.

Furthermore, there are vacant posts in the Alberta Milk Industry that need to be filled. These vacancies include: dairy workers, milkers, calf rearers, dairy herd operators, herdsmen, a dairy manager, general farm workers and other positions.

A popular fast food chain in Canada also has job openings for food counter attendants.?? Persons interested in applying should have experience in customer service delivery or the Fast Food Industry.

Persons with the requisite qualifications and experience are urged to submit their reśum??s, qualifications, valid identification and job letters from previous employers to the NEB.??

Ms. Quintyne stressed that the NEB would provide applicants with assistance in preparing reśum??s as well as any information on how to access other required documents.

Persons should contact the NEB at 310-1522/1530/1519/1532 for further information, or visit its headquarters, which are now located on the 2nd Floor, Warren’s Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.
