Acting Chief Education Officer, Joy Adamson, has announced that all Caribbean Examinations Council exams scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, July 2, will not take place due to the impending passage of Tropical Storm Elsa.

She was among the officials at the press conference, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, convened this afternoon to give an update on the national preparedness plan.

“There will be no CXC examinations tomorrow because once there is a national shutdown … all of our examination shelters will be closed,” Mrs. Adamson said, noting that the schools would be functioning as hurricane shelters.

She added that “CXC will be using their adverse conditions policy and no candidate would be disadvantaged”. Tropical Storm Elsa is expected to pass south of Barbados, early Friday morning.
