Barbados’ Junior Minister of Tourism, Christopher Morgan, accepts his prize from competition judge and CTO Allied Member, Jacqueline Johnson.

Barbados’ Junior Minister of Tourism, Christopher Morgan, made his country proud yesterday, when he claimed second place at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) 10th Annual Tourism Youth Congress in St. Kitts.

Jamaica’s Junior Minister of Tourism took the top prize, while Turks and Caicos Islands and Dutch St. Maarten tied for third.

Mr. Morgan was one of 14 Junior Ministers from CTO member mtates who came together to discuss issues relevant to the sector, with this year’s focus on sports tourism and the use of social media.?? The competitors were also given a mystery topic which tested their knowledge of the industry in their respective islands.

Minister of Tourism, Richard Sealy, offered congratulations to Junior Minister Christopher Morgan, who placed 2nd in this year’s CTO Tourism Youth Congress.????

The event, which is one element of the CTO’s State of the Industry Conference, presents an opportunity for youth to share their views on issues of regional importance and encourages regional integration and unified problem solving.
