The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Canada, Konstantin Zhigalov, has outlined the reasons why his country???s bid for the non-permanent seat on the United Nation???s Security Council should be successful.
Ambassador Zhigalov spoke of the social and economic successes of Kazakhstan during a courtesy call with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean.
During the meeting at the Ministry, he delivered a letter from his country???s Minister of Foreign Affairs to Senator McClean, seeking Barbados??? support for their candidature to the Security Council for the period 2017-2018.
The Foreign Minister indicated that in relation to candidatures, CARICOM Member States try, as far as possible, to act collaboratively on such matters.
Ambassador Zhigalov also expressed an interest in establishing formal diplomatic relations with Barbados and discussed a number of ways both countries could benefit.
