Staff and patients at the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic played host to a special visitor this morning, Kenyan First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta.

The wife of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is accompanying her husband on a trip to the region, was taken on a guided tour of the child health clinic at the Wildey, St. Michael medical facility by a team from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The team, headed by Senior Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Karen Broome, also included Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Barry Ward and Senior Health Sister, Fay Denny.

The work of the clinic was of special interest to the First Lady, who launched the Beyond Zero campaign in 2014, which aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Kenya.

Mrs. Kenyatta was accompanied on the tour by Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Public Affairs, Senator Lucille Moe.
