Efforts by the Labour Department to sensitise employers about relevant labour laws and best practices to promote a greater degree of cooperation between them and their employees will continue later this week.
A two-day seminar, entitled Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practice, will be held on Wednesday, June 22, and Thursday, June 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., each day. Sessions will be conducted on the 2nd Floor of the Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.
Recently the Health and Safety at Work Act was amended and the Ministry of Labour is in the process of seeking to get other pieces of legislation revised to facilitate effective workplace management.
