A number of safety and health officers and union members are set to receive rudimentary training in Occupational, Safety and Health by month-end.
The Labour Department, in collaboration with the United States of America???s Department of Labour and US-OSHA National Training Institute, will provide the training.
Representatives from the Department, the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados, the National Union of Public Workers, the Barbados Workers??? Union and the Barbados Employers??? Confederation will benefit from the two-week programme.
It will run weekdays from Monday, August 31, to Friday, September 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Warrens Office Complex.
The Opening Ceremony for the training workshop will be held on Monday, August 31 at 8:30 a.m. ??Minister of State, with responsibility for Labour and Immigration, Senator Arni Walters will address the opening. aalleyne@barbados.gov.bb
