The Labour Department has partnered with the Small Business Association and the Petroleum Dealers Association of Barbados Inc. to host two labour legislation seminars on Wednesday, November 21, and Thursday, November 22.

This forms part of the department’s effort to sensitise and educate employers on Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practices.

The workshops are scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m. and are expected to conclude at 1:00 p.m., and will be held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.

During the sessions, participants will gain knowledge on the Labour Act, Holiday with Pay Act, the Maternity Act and the Shops Act.?? They will also have the opportunity to examine methods to reduce workplace conflict and enhance productivity.

Acting Senior Labour Officer, Linda Bowen, and Labour Officer, Pauline Farnum, will be the presenters on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Wednesday’s workshop is being held in conjunction with the Small Business Association, while the Petroleum Dealers Association of Barbados Inc. is the partner for Thursday’s seminar.
