Some 45 enumeration districts throughout the island will be visited from this month, as the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) continues its cycle of the quarterly household Labour Force Sample Survey.

The sample of households chosen for interviews includes 50 percent of those surveyed in the previous quarter being revisited. An official of the BSS explained that, in some cases, after an interval of two years such an exercise takes place.

“This will improve the reliability and the comparability of national estimates of the labour force over time periods,” the official said.

The BSS representative encouraged all householders included in the survey to cooperate fully with the field officers and stressed that all information received would be treated confidentially.

The districts being visited in St. Michael include Brighton, Carters Gap, Carlton Terrace, Strakers Road, Cave Hill Main Road, Grazettes Terrace, Palm Road, Pasture Road, Holders Land, Hill Road, Tamarind Avenue, Forde’s Road, Mottley Land, Headley Land, Howells Cross Road, Bird Hill, Belle Gully and Neils Tenantry.

In Christ Church, St. David’s, Small Ridge, Frere Pilgrim, Edey Village, Cox Road, Durants Green, Callender’s Park, Durants Fairways, Ridgemont, Enterprise Drive, Keizer Hill, Lower Carters Gap and Pillerdorf Drive will be targeted.

The areas which will be surveyed in St. Philip include: Church Village, Dodds Land, Padmore Village, Bushy Park, Harrow, Webb Hill, Foul Bay, Harmony Lodge, St. Martins, Ocean City, Nursery #1 and #2, Sunny Meadow, Four Roads and Kirtons.
