The Ministry of Labour continues to be in the vanguard of efforts to fight against the discrimination and stigmatisation of persons living with HIV/AIDS.

To this end, the Project Unit of the Ministry will host a Stigma Reduction Workshop for Public Service Officers, next Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Coconut Court Beach Hotel, Hastings, Christ Church.

The target group includes supervisors and middle management. The purpose of the workshop is to educate officers within their respective ministries and departments about the various issues related to HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses, with a specific focus on stigma and discrimination.

The training will focus on the Public Service Act, Legal Implications for Breaches of Confidentiality, Electronic Records Management and Stigma and Discrimination.
