Land tax bills for the financial year 2017-2018 have been issued.

In a release today, the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) advised the public that the bills would bear an issue date of September 25, 2017.

“Property owners are asked to note that this year’s mailer will show the combined information for the property valuation notice and the land tax bill. This means that taxpayers will benefit from a 10 per cent discount if payment is made in full within 30 days of the issue date. The deadline for the 10 per cent is October 25,” the BRA stated.

The Authority also advised taxpayers who are not in agreement with any of the details listed on the mailer to submit their objections in writing to the Revenue Commissioner as soon as possible. Those persons who have objections, the BRA said, would be entitled to their discounts.

Payments may be made at the Authority’s locations at the Treasury Building, Weymouth Corporate Centre, Warrens Tower II, Oistins or Holetown. Payment hours for the Treasury Building and Holetown are Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., while the other locations are 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
