Minister of Culture, Stephen Lashley, has extended condolences to the family and friends of Barbadian vocalist, Clarence Thompson.

In a statement released today, Mr. Lashley said that the entertainer will long be remembered in Barbados as being “one of the most outstanding vocalists that Barbados has ever produced”.

Stating that Mr. Thompson’s passing will leave a “void” in Barbados as it relates to those champions of Barbadian music, Mr. Lashley expressed the hope that young Barbadian musicians would emulate the late performer’s drive and determination.

The 71-year-old singer was well known for performing with Barbadian spouge legend, Jackie Opel.
