Policy makers and planners, public, private and international organisations, researchers, students and other stakeholders, will soon have quick and easy access to current socio-economic data.

That is because the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Energy, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will launch the 2008 Barbados Socio-Economic Data Pocket Statistics, at UN House, Marine Gardens, tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27, at 3:00 p.m.

The pocketbook will provide a concise summary of official statistics on the economic and social sectors in Barbados and is expected to be a key factor in enabling priority decisions to be made.

According to an official of the Ministry, the document will enhance the value of and access to statistics, and will empower users “to make quick, justified and informed decisions about the Barbadian socio-economic franchise. It will also stimulate their improved communication capability”.

Minister of State Senator Darcy Boyce, will deliver the feature address at tomorrow’s launch.
