The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management will officially launch the Barbados Agricultural Marketing and Information System (BARMIS) next Friday, February 9.

Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, Dr. David Estwick, will deliver remarks at the launch in the Ministry’s Conference Room, Graeme Hall, Christ Church, at 9:30 a.m.

The primary objective of the European Union-funded project is to transform the agricultural and fisheries sectors into more modern, efficient, technology and knowledge-driven sectors.

It is further anticipated that BARMIS will assist in increasing international competitiveness; stakeholder collaboration; and domestic food security and sovereignty.
