Today, hundreds of starfish washed in at Browne???s Beach ??? an unusual sight for Barbados, capturing the attention of sea bathers.

But, officials at the Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU) are appealing to members of the public to leave the starfish alone.

Officials explained the unusual presence of the star fish may be a result of adverse weather conditions in other areas, and expressed concern that sea bathers were removing them from the water to take home.

???Please put them back in the water,??? the officials urged, while explaining the starfish were a part of the natural eco system and would die if they were not returned to their natural environment.
