Urban development issues will come under the microscope on Monday, August 17, when a public lecture is held entitled: A New Urban Agenda ??? A Barbadian Context.
President of the Barbados Town Planning Society, Dr. Yolanda Alleyne, will deliver the 7:00 p.m. lecture, which will be held at the Urban Development Commission, Bridge Street Mall, Bridge Street, Bridgetown.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions on urban development and finding urban design solutions.
Underscoring the importance of this discussion, an official at the UDC said Bridgetown was not fully utilised and the lecture would give persons an opportunity to give suggestions on how to maximise the urban area.
This lecture is one of a series of activities planned to celebrate the Urban Development Commission???s 18th anniversary celebrations, under the theme: UDC Empowering and Enriching Urban Communities.??The week will begin on Sunday, August 16, with a thanksgiving service at Covenant Life Teaching Centre, Green Hill, St. Michael, at 8:30 a.m.
