As part of the activities to mark Hurricane Preparedness Month in June, the Department of Emergency Management will host a series of library displays until month-end.

These displays, which provide information on various hazards, will be erected at public libraries in Holetown, St. James; the Valley Resource Centre, Glebe, St. George; Tamarind Hall, Speightstown, St. Peter; and the Main Library, Bridgetown, The City.

The libraries will open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, and close between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. for lunch.

Members of the public are invited to view these displays so they can be further sensitised to the hurricane hazard and its associated secondary hazards.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season began on June 1, and Barbados will highlight the hazard through a month of activities under the theme: The Next 50 Years: Making our Communities Resilient to Natural Hazards.
