Limegrove Lifestyle Centre has gotten the nod of approval from Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.

After touring a number of the high-end stores at the Holetown, St. James location yesterday, Mr. Stuart described the centre as the kind of development Barbados needs and promised to continue working with those involved to ???raise the country???s gaze to another horizon???.

He disclosed that over the past few months Government had been having consultations with people in the private sector to ascertain where the bottlenecks were occurring. ???And, we have committed ourselves to???removing all of those obstacles to easy investment in Barbados because it is on investment that we depend. Without investment Barbados could not be the showpiece it is today and, therefore, no Government in Barbados, and certainly none presided over by me, has any interest in making it difficult for investors to invest here,??? he stressed.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Efficiency Working Team, which is part of the Barbados Action Team he set up last year to make sure things were done more quickly, was striving to ensure that the facilitation of business was a top priority.

Mr. Stuart told Paul Altman, who conceptualised the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, and investor and director Senator Dr. Trevor Carmichael, that the fact that they were able to attract so many high-end brands to Barbados was a tribute to their steadfastness and said the centre had a metropolitan feel.

Mr. Altman said Limegrove had brought some of the world???s top brands here and expressed the view that this attraction was previously missing as part of Barbados??? high-end tourism package.

He disclosed that the last building on the complex had recently been completed and the centre???s official opening would follow.

Apart from the high-end stores, the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre houses three courtyards, cinemas, Lime Bar, and six restaurants, among others.
