In an effort to promote the importance of developing reading and writing skills, the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development will host a public Literacy Fair next Wednesday, September 8.
The event is themed "Literacy Empowerment" and is being organised to coincide with International Literacy Day, which will be celebrated on the same day.?? It will be held in Queen’s Park from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Students from a number of public and private nursery, primary and secondary schools across the island are expected to attend the fair, which will feature book stalls, an expanded careers showcase, story-telling, drama, and a teacher’s and children’s corner.?? Persons attending will also be shown how to read and understand any subject area. kmoore@barbados.gov.bb
