The Lodge School will celebrate another milestone next week ??? it???s 270th Anniversary.??This will be marked by a week of activities from September 28 to October 3.

On Monday, September 28, staff and students will attend a church service at St. John???s Parish Church from 9:00 a.m. There will be no formal school on that day.

The following day, Tuesday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m., there will be a short re-enactment of ???Coffin Day???; an exhibition and a careers??? showcase at the school.

A mentorship session has also been planned, and it will see old scholars interacting with students. On Wednesday, September 30, football and chess matches will be played from 4:00 p.m., and on Thursday, October 1, there will be a health fair on the school grounds from 10:00 a.m. This has been planned by the old scholars.

On Friday, October 2, from 1:00 p.m., past and present students will square off against each other in a T20 cricket match and netball.??The curtain will come down on the week of celebrations on Saturday, October 3, when the school hosts a lime and a game of pool at Heavy Sweetz Bar, Stadium Road, St. Michael.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the activities to commemorate the 270th Anniversary.??Located at Society St. John, The Lodge School was founded in 1745. Its principal is Vasco Dash and it has a roll of over 1,100 students.
