The 7th Annual Love Poetry and Song charity concert will be launched this Friday, December 8, in the Officers’ Mess, Barbados Defence Force, St. Ann’s Fort Garrison, St. Michael.

Organised by the HIV Education Committee of the Barbados Government Information Service (BGIS), the concert is held to raise funds and to collect non-perishable food items and toiletries for the HIV Food Bank. Love Poetry and Song is also used to sensitise persons about HIV and AIDS, as well as sexually transmitted infections.

Speakers at the launch will be Senior Medical Officer of Health, in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Anton Best; Deputy Chief Information Officer of the BGIS, Ian Inniss; HIV Food Bank Manager, Stacia Whittaker, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Barbados Defence Force, Commander Aquinas Clarke.

Performances will be by The Mix Up-Fix Up Band.  Refreshments will be served.
