The heavy showers and inclement weather currently affecting the island are being caused by a low level trough in the south of the Eastern Caribbean.

This was stated today by Senior Meteorologist at the Barbados Meteorological Services, Clairmonte Williams, who said the conditions are expected to persist for another 12 to 18 hours, until Thursday, September 9.

As a result, Mr. Williams warned Barbadians that some pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms can be expected.

He, therefore, advised residents to exercise caution and to take all necessary precautionary measures.??clashley@barbados.gov.bb
