Government will be officially represented at the Huntsman World Senior Games being held in Utah from October 2 to 16. Minister of Social Care, Dr. Denis Lowe, will join Barbadian senior athletes there from tomorrow. His attendance comes as a result of an invitation from the Games organisers.
Dr. Lowe said: “I will be the official representative for Government in support of the Barbados contingent. Our presence there will be an indication of our full support for the Games and the efforts of our senior athletes. It will also allow us to se how others are developing the concept of wellness for seniors.”
While there, Minister Lowe is expected to have a series of meetings with the Games organisers. He will also seek to “explore the links between Barbados’ participation at the Senior Games and the promotion of this country’s tourism product”.
