There has been a slight reduction in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Effective midnight, Saturday, March 7, 2009, the retail price of LPG will be reduced from $126.67 per 100-pound cylinder to $122.47, a reduction of $4.20; the 25-pound cylinder will drop by $1.04 from $34.25 to $33.21 and the 20-pound cylinder will go from $27.40 to $26.56 – a saving of 84 cents.

Last February 24, the price of LPG was adjusted upwards due to an increase in the price of crude oil on the world market.

At a meeting on June 5, 2008, Cabinet instituted a mechanism to adjust petroleum prices on a monthly basis in keeping with international trends related to the pricing of petroleum products.
