Consumers will be paying less for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Effective midnight, Sunday, July 11, the retail price of LPG will decrease in keeping with the imported price of petroleum products.?? As a result, the 100-pound cylinder will now be retailed at $140.41 – down by $10.12.?? The 25-pound cylinder will now cost $37.69 – a dip of $2.47; while the 20-pound cylinder will now be retailed at $30.15 – a decrease of $1.98.

Government has a mechanism in place to regulate petroleum prices in a timely manner.?? To this end, prices are adjusted monthly by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce, on the advice of the Division of Energy.

Retail prices, therefore, will fluctuate in accordance with the landed cost of imported products.?? jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
