Barbados will join celebrations to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, with the launch of an exhibition entitled: Magna Carta to Commonwealth Charter.

The exhibition takes place at the Supreme Court of Barbados, tomorrow, Friday, May 29, at the Supreme Court Complex, White Park Road, St. Michael.

Attorney General, Adriel Brathwaite; Chief Justice, Sir Marston Gibson; and British High Commissioner, Victoria Deane, will address the opening ceremony for the exhibition, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The Magna Carta sets out the fundamental legal rights and freedoms of all citizens in Britain, and is included in many Commonwealth constitutions.??The exhibition will trace the legal milestones from the sealing of the Magna Carta to the signing of the Commonwealth Charter by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, at Marlborough House in 2013.
