The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to advise customers along Highway 1 and Highway 2A that between Sunday, November 3, and Monday, November 4, they may experience water outages or low pressure.

This is as a result of the Authority being informed by management of The Ionics Desalination Plant that it would be conducting routine annual scheduled maintenance activities between 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4.

Customers along Highway 1 between Black Rock in St. Michael and Holetown in St. James, as well as those residents along Highway 2A between Cave Hill and Bennetts, may be affected by water outages or low pressure while the work is ongoing.

The BWA will make adjustments to its distribution network to supplement the deficit while the Ionics Desalination Plant is offline and will carry out maintenance at that location, and at the Trents Pumping Station, during the shutdown period.

Customers are advised to store water to assist.  However, the Authority’s water tankers will also service persons within the affected districts as a temporary measure.

The Barbados Water Authority apologizes for any inconvenience this disruption in service may cause.
