Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will return home tomorrow, Tuesday, July 5, following a successful Caribbean Heads of Government Conference (CARICOM) in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The much-anticipated Third Summit of Heads of State and Government of Latin America and the Caribbean on Integration and Development (CALC), which was scheduled to take place on Margarita Island, off Venezuela, from July 4 to July 6, has been postponed.

This follows the recent disclosure by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez that he is undergoing medical treatment.

Barbados and other CARICOM nations were scheduled to hold discussions with their Latin American neighbours in Margarita to ensure that the interests of the region are protected.

A new date for the summit is expected to be announced later.
