Senior Maritime Administrators (SMA) from across the region will be provided with an update on the work of the International Maritime Organization next week.

From Tuesday, February 7, to Wednesday, February 8, the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport will host the Regional SMA Workshop at the Hilton Barbados Resort, Needham’s Point, St. Michael.

The workshop, which is held biennially, seeks to update the knowledge of senior maritime administrators on the latest regulatory and other developments in the international maritime sector.  It also facilitates the development of a prioritised list of technical assistance to the region for the 2018-2019 period.

This year, several countries are expected to be in attendance, including Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Belize, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos, and Trinidad.
