As part of the activities for Crime Awareness Month, officers from the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit (CJRPU) will be distributing face masks and testing the public’s knowledge about the criminal justice system at strategic locations.

On Wednesday, November 25, the team will distribute masks, interact with shoppers and engage the media at Sheraton Mall, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

And on Friday, November 27, CJRPU officers will engage with residents in the Emmerton and New Orleans, St. Michael, districts from 10:00 a.m.to noon.

This year’s Crime Awareness Month, themed: The Criminal Justice Process and its Impact on You, culminates on Monday, November 30, Independence Day.

The objectives of the activities are to build an awareness of criminal justice agencies; highlight the positive contribution of criminal justice agencies in the fight against crime; highlight and emphasise the impact of their work on the development of Barbados and discuss possible solutions to crime and violence in the island.
