As a lead up to next week’s National Awareness Seminar on the Draft Standard for Professional Massage Therapists, the document has been made available online for review and comment.

The seminar, which will be held next Tuesday, February 26, at the National Housing Corporation, Warrens Office Complex, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, will allow participants to share their views on the standard, BNS CP 36.??

A collaboration between the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI) and the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries Inc., the half-day seminar will sensitise delegates on the standard development process; provide a forum for comments on the key points of the Draft National Standard; and familiarise the public about the regulatory requirements that must be met in the implementation of the Standard.????

BNS CP 36 addresses a range of relevant issues, including: professional conduct; sanitation, hygiene and safety; professional attire; ethics, business practices; training; and prevention of sexual misconduct.

Registration for the seminar may be completed by contacting BNSI officer Renate Sealy at 426-3870 or rsealy@bnsi.com.bb; or Meshia Clarke at 429-5357 or mclarke@bcsi.org.bb . Persons may also visit http://www.bnsi.bb/ to review the standard.
