Barbadians and CARICOM nationals residing here who are interested in participating in the logo and motto competitions for the Caribbean Association of Professional Statisticians (CAPS), which will be established shortly in the CARICOM region, are reminded that the deadline for submissions is this Friday, May 31.

Forms should be downloaded from the Barbados Statistical Service’s (BSS) website at http://www.barstats.gov.bb/ or from the Barbados Government Information Service at https://www.gisbarbados.gov.bb/. Completed forms must be emailed to barstats@caribsurf.com or abrowne@barstats.gov.bb; and hard copies sent to BSS, Fifth Floor, Baobab Towers, Warrens, St. Michael.

The logo and motto must be original, and in the case of the motto, if the language is not English, translation must be provided. Each participant will be allowed to submit only one proposal and the winners of the logo and motto competitions will receive BDS$1,500 and $500, respectively.

For additional information on the competitions the public should email the above-mentioned or call 625-2500.

CAPS will be created to advance official and academic statistics and to support evidence-based decision-making at all levels. The view has been expressed that the establishment of a regional Association would positively impact the harmonisation process within the region.
