The Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI) has implemented a number of measures for students to follow during the curfew period, January 2 to 14.

A notice from the SJPI states that “Semester 1 will commence with end of semester examinations during the period Monday, January 18, to Friday, January 29”.

Face-to-face examinations will be held on campus, and only those persons assigned on the designated day will be allowed entry.

Students must be fully attired in their uniforms and display their SJPI identification card on their person at all times.

They are also required to wear a face mask and follow all COVID-19 protocols and signage. Additionally, students must have their personal examination tools, such as pens and pencils.

The SJPI further advises that online examinations will be conducted remotely, and students must arrange to write these exams from a remote location. Persons without the requisite devices to participate in these exams are asked to utilise the SJPI deferral system through the Student Services Division.

Meanwhile, the Open and Flexible Learning Centre/Distance and Continuing Education Division will commence classes from Monday, January 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The management of the SJPI advises that it will announce arrangements for “make up” classes in due course.
