Medical Practitioners are reminded that in accordance with Section 18 of the Medical Profession Act 2011-1, registrations must be renewed annually by paying the prescribed fees and producing evidence of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), as approved by the Barbados Medical Council.

Physicians are advised to contact the Council with their CPE credits before Saturday, December 1, as applications for credits received by the Medical Council, will be assessed by Tuesday, January 15. There is no guarantee that applications received after December 1 will be assessed by that time.

Fees should be paid to the Registrar, Supreme Court Building, Whitepark Road, St. Michael, during the month of January and failure to do so, will result in a penalty fee of twice the amount being charged.

Receipts should be presented to the Secretary of the Barbados Medical Council at the Ministry of Health, 3rd Floor, Frank Walcott Building, Culloden Road, St. Michael, in order to receive the Certificate of Registration.?? However, payment of fees does not automatically result in registration, rather based on the Act, the registration process is completed upon receiving the Certificate from the Council.

Queries should be directed to the Secretary of the Council at 467-9377/9455.??
