Stakeholders involved in the HIV fight will gather at United Nations House this Friday, February 19, for a round table discussion which will examine gender-responsive HIV prevention strategies in an attempt to mitigate gender stereotypes.

Approximately 30 persons are expected to participate in the session, which is being hosted by the Bureau of Gender Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Fund for Women. ???? ??

This round table meeting is a component of Phase Two of the Capacity Building for Mainstreaming Gender Analysis in HIV/AIDS Programming in the Caribbean. This segment of the project emphasises technical knowledge and cross-sectoral support to ensure the widest incorporation of gender analysis in programme formulation, implementation and monitoring, especially in the education, health and social sectors.

Phase Two of the programme will also see the scaling up of popular advocacy strategies which focus on vulnerable populations, including unemployed young women, commercial and informal sex workers and victims of gender-based violence.
