Men across the island will get another opportunity to arm themselves with vital information designed to encourage them to lead a healthier lifestyle.
The Bureau of Gender Affairs, in collaboration with the Caribbean HIV&AIDS Alliance, the Ministry of International Transport and the National HIV/AIDS Commission, will host a Men’s Empowerment Forum on Saturday, February 16, in Independence Square, The City, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
During the day, a number of health checks will be carried out, including HIV testing and counselling, as well as blood sugar, cholesterol and Prostate Specific Antigen tests.
Displays will be set up and there will be ???in tent’ discussions and presentations by a number of organisations. Literature on various subject areas will also be distributed. Entertainment will be provided by male artistes, while there will be a fitness display by the Barbados Masters and Seniors Athletic Club.
All men – young and old – are encouraged to participate in this activity.????
