Men are being encouraged to congregate in Independence Square, The City, tomorrow, Saturday, February 16, where they will hear how they can improve their health at a Men’s Empowerment Forum.

Sponsored by the Bureau of Gender Affairs, in association with the Caribbean HIV & AIDS Alliance, the Ministry of International Business and Transport and the National HIV/AIDS Commission, the health fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

On hand to share information will be representatives from the Barbados Diabetic Association, the Barbados Fire Service, the National Employment Bureau, the Barbados Family Planning Association, the Men’s Educational Support Association, the Men’s Health Discussion Group and the Barbados Defence Force, among others.

There will be a short opening ceremony which will be addressed by the Director of the Bureau of Gender Affairs, Patricia Hackett-Codrington, and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist at the Commission, Alexis Nurse. During the day, there will also be entertainment, including a presentation by the Haynesville Youth Club Drummers.
