Brazil and Barbados??? enduring relationship has been lauded by this country???s Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss.

The Minister praised the long-standing relations between the two countries during a courtesy on call Monday with Brazil???s Ambassador, Luiz Gilberto Seixas de Andrade, at the Ministry???s Reef Road headquarters.

The two officials discussed a wide range of topics, including exchange student language programmes, cooperating on business opportunities and the political and commercial mission to Brazil last September.

In praising the mission, Mr. Inniss said it ???proved quite beneficial???, as it presented a prime opportunity for Barbados to showcase its product and service offerings as well as provided local manufacturers with the chance to establish business relations.

In turn, the Ambassador, who was last based in Guyana, said the two countries could also learn from each other through agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Other areas also discussed were the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the conclusion of a Double Taxation Agreement, technology and innovation.??Barbados and Brazil established diplomatic ties in 1971.
