Minister of Culture, Stephen Lashley, has congratulated Chrystal Cummins-Beckles for winning the Second Euphony Vibes Regional Female Calypso Competition which was held last month in Montserrat.
Mr. Lashley, in a letter to Ms. Cummins-Beckles, said: "Your victory not only did Barbados proud, but it served to reinforce the strength of our female calypsonians. The professionalism and versatility of your performances bring great enjoyment to us all."
The Minister wished her "every success" in the future and urged her to continue entertaining the public with her musical talent.
Ms. Cummins-Beckles competed against calypsonians from Anguilla, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the host country. She performed Fly On De Wall and Forgive De Caribbean.
