Minister of Culture, Stephen Lashley, has congratulated Barbadian R&B recording artist, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, for winning yet another Grammy Award.

The 23-year-old recently won an award for Best Dance Recording for her song "Only Girl (in the World)" and also the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Female Solo Artist.

In a letter to Rihanna, Mr. Lashley said: "Your achievements to date have been phenomenal and all the more special for us because of the fact that you are Barbadian.

"…I should like, on behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, to offer you heartiest congratulations on your incredible global success. It is with immense pride that we watch your performances, and the ways in which you are always mindful to remind the world of your birthplace. You are truly an Ambassador for Barbados."

This year’s Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, and Rihanna was nominated for five awards.??
